Saezuru is the story what happens when a yakuza boss who uses trauma-induced hypersexuality to both medicate his PTSD and to get an edge over people finally someone who loves him unconditionally. It's ugly and funny and painful and beautiful.
I fucking love how our gangster is a legitimately dangerous dude professionally while at no time is he anything but patient, reliable, and respectful of his boy's boundaries? We watch this man do real damage to rivals, will break a face, but a fucking stud in the sack and listens to him and willing to put himself out there and like doesn't hesitate to hold his hand out for that boy first. This is how you do a dangerous romantic lead.
Well-written, creative framing device, stunning artwork, really interesting in the sense that I genuinely cannot see how the fuck they're gonna pull a believable happy ending out of this and the trauma responses that Kei has - to his abusers and to Yukata as his first somewhat-stable relationship - are probably the most realistic of anything I've seen in BL/Yaoi manga ever
