really top drawer!

dear god, honesty in a yaoi manga? salaryman confesses to his boss to get out of dating someone else, but it doesn't spiral into something as cliche as that sounds. really liked that they talked a lot before getting physical, really seemed to respect and enjoy each other's company. decent art, nice read.

first-salaryman has to move back to the family farm, and his lover decides to move closer to support him. really sweet, wish it were longer and had more resolution, since there is so much about the future, family, and marriage. next is a part-timer and a single dad, also very sweet. really nice art and gentle, sweet atmosphere throughout.

wow. really well-written story about two students grappling with rebellion and the 'right path' and relating to others. art isn't really my bag, but the story more than makes up for it.

first is 1+1+1- story about a man who lost his lover, but hasn't gotten over him, and a man who can see the man's lover. the transference of feelings is pretty nice, and i liked all the characters- despite the premise, felt pretty real. the other story is about a man who is pretty emotionally stunted and his admirer. their give and take also felt real and i enjoyed them navigating the differences in their feelings and working it all out. nice art.

atypical BL. the first few chapters are about a band, esp the relationship between vocalist and guitarist. it's frustrating to watch someone that means so much to you self-destruct, and drag down everything that you've built together, but sometimes you can't be creative without a person like that in yr life. chapter 4 of 'seduce me after the show' overlaps and elaborates on the 'too old to die' chapter here. also two bittersweet one-shots, but all are well written & beautifully drawn.

four stories- first is a twisted family tale- dark, tragic, and engaging. second is kind of fluffy- divorced dad meets a host, rather sweet. third is a dark reunion tale centered around the tragic events of one evening that changed three lives. i really liked this one, the ending almost seems like wish-fulfillment, but the two who deserve to be punished are, but in different ways. fourth is way different- an ugly space captain and his beautiful brother, kind of funny, like a palate cleanser.

So beautiful and encouraging. Cried at the end. Great art.

pretty cute. like that the seme pursued the doctor in his own way, but was still able to read the atmosphere and waited until the feelings were mutual. the doc does look soo young, though, esp without his glasses, but their juxtaposition is very cute. not sure if this is finished somewhere else or has been dropped, unfortunately. great art. also includes a running side story about a smart kid and his obsession with his neighbor, which was kind of annoying, so four stars for main story only.

perfect. coming of age story about unlikely friends who bond over their love of jazz. the mangaka really outdid herself- the historical setting is spot-on, the music is palpable, and the characters are so alive and genuine it's heartbreaking. wonderful, wonderful. josei, with bromance.

one and two shots- LOVE the art- first two stories are interconnected and sexy, about college friends. the next two feature a divorced salaryman a bento maker- so warm and sweet, best of the lot. third couple is rough for my taste but ends up okay. the last two are about an older seme and much younger uke, which i don't usually like, but the atmosphere of burgeoning sexuality is portrayed pretty well.
