Hmm.. Maybe like what Rin-chan has said, ever since they were little, Maki kept on saying he liked Rin the most. With that Rin-chan doesn't know whether it's the 'Like like' or like a 'childhood friend' type of like.
And that's true about asking as well.
Admiration(adoration) is different from the term Love. if its not a straight meaning then it can be confusing. Rin isn't jumping to conclusion. he's just confused and unsure of Maki's motive and feeling.
I think the uke was jumping to conclusion instead of asking the seme. Yes he is an idiot but he is definitely in love with the uke. Good chapters though. Can't wait for the next one!! Please update soon. :D
