The seme is a cross dresser and as far as the uke looking young, that's just the artist. Its not shota.
I know this doesn't help, but this mangaka (especially her earlier stuff), some of her manga actually is shota. The end result, is that her other manga stemming out from her earlier stuff looks like shota, even though the characters are the same age, etc. I wouldn't go far as to say "sick to read" because I mean, I am sure that there are other manga with age gap themes that have the uke look "oddly older for their age" and people are fine with it.
I'm actually more of a fan of her more recent stuff, like Interval, Interval dj, Koi ni Nare. They might just change your opinion of the mangaka, especially if you aren't a fan of character that look younger than they are.
Well reading the afterwords this authors specialty is Shota.. read Sumanai!! masumi-kun if you don't like shota..

I thought the story was just okay. I'm okay with the semes looks but I'm with you on the uke looking like an 8 year old. I had a hard time seeing them as teenagers that are the same age. Not sure why they think the little kid look is so sexy. I just see a kid.
