That said, it can be really weird to see your parents or teachers or mentors when they were as young as you, although ofc they were once. You grow up believing these people know so much more, have their crap together, have life figured out.
It's maturity when you realize that nobody ever really figures out everything, or anything, sometimes. It's actually quite rare to know what to do and when. Even if you do everything right, you can still lose everything. Some learn this sooner than others, and some learn it far too soon, and that can also be quite messy indeed.
But such is life. You do the best you can, as hard as you can, with all that you've got. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst, and figure it out as you go.
