I read it waaaay back and it was amazing, but now that I'm older and rereading... Working adults pinning after 16yo girls? It's making me very uncomfortable. There's no remorse or even acknowledging that the girl is a minor, just treating them as an adult. Very disturbing.
This probably one of my favorite Shoujo smuts, even with so many questionable stuff, the characters are endearing, and the romance I liked was Tomo and Omi, they were super cute and unproblematic. I don't dislike the main couple dynamic but how they met and started a relationship.....
Reading the comments I realized why the style was so familiar, and now I realize I already know this mangaka from her BL's , that also explains why there is some BL'ish feeling to it (people thinking Kaoru looks like a handsome guy who dates Kagetsu, Junya) Is like BL mangakas can't rest if they don't add some M/M flavor to their stories, not that I'm complaining, Now I hope Junya can get his own Love Story.

This manga was good. I liked it, but why OH WHY did the author have to write that first chapter like that? Why did that have to be their first meeting experience?! With all the good that happened afterwards it almost made me forget that the male lead raped an underaged girl when they first met. Im seriously disappointed with that scene. It doesnt fit with the rest of this manga at all.
To be honest I think more shoujos should have "smut" just to show a broader spectrum of the characters relationship and make the reader more invested in it (also it's pretty hot). I think maybe why BL is more popular with many people is because it doesn't shy away from the sexscenes. I'm not talking about turning the story into hentai, but just showing everything in the couples relationship I guess.
Most shoujo manga doesn't feature smut, because it's mainly made for underage girls. If you want a mature story, it would be more appropriate to look for Josei (or Mature/Adult) manga. Josei is pretty much like shoujo, but for older women (18+.) Josei and shoujo can have pretty much the same kinds of stories, like student life etc., it's just that Josei can take on more mature topics and mature views than shoujo.
Yaoi has sex scenes because it is not for underage readers (never stopped me though..haha). There is shounen-ai for that.
In my opinion, this shouldn't have been tagged as shoujo, it should have been at least Josei.
Yes I agree with ypu so much, BL really is the best combi of Smut and feelings, straight smuts almost always fall short, with random sex scenes that are usually the same (rather submissive girl that lets the guy do everything) is not like some BL aren't like that but they have more power play and change in dynamics, maybe because between males they are both supposed to be the dominant part/ equals , unlike with a woman that is, sadly, usually given the submissive role just because she is a woman （￣へ￣）I think I've never come across with a Shoujo with smut with a Dom girl, unless is a straight up more fetishy story that is suppossed to go like that , not a more natural feeling that they can switch in bed for fun.
