Haven't read through it all yet, but as much as she's a hardworking, good mom; why'd she leave her daughter and not go through her contract? OK, it's because of love or whatever, but love shouldn't mean ignoring a contract and leaving your daughter, right? That way, she'll have to pay. What about her daughter? "Oh, you're here? That's good. Now stay." Leaves for goodness knows how long.
Actually a very realistic ending. And more believable than her going with either Setsu or Kyo. In a very bittersweet sense, but still holding on to hope for the future, I really enjoyed the way this manga ended. Because her life is more than just about her love for any one boy, it is also about the future she chooses to carve for herself and where she wants to be in the present. In that way, she's matured into a beautiful young woman with enough strength, confidence, and willpower to go anywhere she wants in the world. And indeed, in the last panel she is shinning like the star she's always, in actuality, been. :)
It's been quite a while that i haven't read shoujo and this is definitely the feeling i miss the fluffy and twitterpatted sensation i love it that kyo is so level headed and mature, also how both he and setsu were able to come in good terms. in the end.
it'a an ok manga.. however I probably won't read this again... ending feels rushed and there's quite a few questions that was left unanswered ...like regarding Rin's father ...Miyu always tells Rin that she'll tell her but it got pushed back and so on and on and in the end no answer... very unsatisfying...
I don't think it takes away from the overall quality of the manga at all, to have some questions left unanswered. To me, the issue of Rin's father was never really a focal point to begin with, and therefore not really vital to the plot. If that's the only thing that's unsatisfying about it, you might want to consider contemplating what this story is about.
To me, it was all about growing up and finding yourself. And the author delivered that in spades. It's okay to be disappointed with some things, but I would read this manga again because, in-spite of everything else, the female lead is strong-willed and determined and will not allow anything or anyone to hold her down or back for long. That in itself is what makes this manga so good, whereas with other manga's you will find female leads lacking in personality and strength of character. For this fact alone, I would reread it.
No, Rin chose both Setsu and her job. What she didn't choose was to give up her job and go to new york. I think that Rin continued her modelling career while having a relationship with Setsu while he's in new york.
