Much like what others are saying this Manga was unfortunately canceled. For those wondering why, apparently the mangaka got sick and Dragon Eye was put on an indefinite hiatus since. Maybe something about eye surgery, but I'm not sure.
For those who are curious, there is a Volume 9. Its just not scanlated. Nothing of note happened during vol 9, and for all intend & purpose it seemed like it would continue (there were even author notes and question period at the end of the vol 9, but no hints were given that it would be axed) the story without issue. There wasn't even a rushed ending. Therefore the whole thing is really weird.
Spoiler for vol 9:
The tournament continues, but cheating was discovered during the MC's fight. The noble who hated him (foster parent of the girl) tried to seal his power during the fight, and that gives MC a massive headache and makes him sluggish. He almost lost until the cheating was discovered. The demon infiltration wasnt resolved but the girl was able to give a warning to delay it.
... We're not sure ............ But still this was/is an amazing manga .. If only it was continued but i hope they will continue it again. This would be amazing as an animation too. It may "slightly" remind me of Ao no exorcist but its not.. because ao no exorcist .. How do i say this ... It has a different "story" and vice versa. Its so amazing (both mangas).
