How can a youngerself of me can watch this without knowing any context (⊙…⊙ ) This is not child-friendly, but they still air this on Sunday morning as a kids show along with doraemon?
The nostalgia is strong for this one. I used to watch as it played in the television when I was younger. I can't even remember a lot of the plot but the key points did come back as I read. The deaths were so sad like some of them felt unnecessary. So many rapey scenes too. The amount of kisses and body contact the MC's had with other characters felt too much imo. It felt messy. My jealousy and possessiveness could never... Anyways even though there were so many challenges in the story, the ending was wrapped up quite nicely. I like how they showed what happened with the other key characters. Overall, I wouldn't read it again for the story (cause it's a bit stressful) but I'd definitely read it again for the sense of nostalgia it brings. Reminiscing it makes me feel the innocence and peace I once had when I was young. It feels nice. <3
Even with all the (sometimes) unnecessary drama there is something in the original FY that is really charming, the story, the characters their relationships. I actually like Miaka tho, she does has a lot of flaws but I give to her that she is funny and proactive, also the food, she knows whats important xd.
I still feel bad for Seiryuu they got f*cked because Yui basically forced her way there, unlike the other 3, that country needs to work the hardest to be rebuild, and they don't have the blessing of their god since Suzaku sealed him.
I've watch the anime of it bec I missed it and yep it's makes me cringe with all those cliche scenes but I still love it haha. Bring back memories when I'm still young. The feels.

I wouldn't say cringe, but it's true that it has it's fair share of cliche. Let's not forget it's been written in the 90'. (▰˘◡˘▰)
