A huge cast of characters with a variety of interpersonal relationships. This is such an interesting cast, I just wish misogyny and homophobia didn't coat everything they did and said. But I guess if it didn't have those 90s Japanese perspectives, it wouldn't exist. I liked it, and appreciate it as a reference point for how societal views are changing.
I'm a very sensitive person and I guess you can say I have a mild trauma regarding about Adultery/Cheating/Family break-ups due to those. And no, it's not a real life thing, it's because before I used to read lots of Joseis with these elements involved and I can not believe how much it influences me. The hurt, everything. I worry about myself now, my outlook about relationships changed too, but that's another story. Now back to the topic, I was surprised I read through it all! I'm laughing so bad at his older brother. The family complexity between everyone was so hurtful if you portray this manga on a serious/dramatic tone but since it's a comedic glint to it, it made things easy to read. It was a really really good read! At first I was reluctant, but due to not having anything to read, I decided to read this and BEST DECISION OF MY LIFE Just read this, it's a satisfying one.
Yeah, I think the reason why the older brother and the mother thing wasn't awful is cause his marriage was already broken and because it was a simple matter of want vs need. He wanted a wife who was obedient and he could control but he needed a woman who was strong and could stand up to him as his equal.
THIS IS ONE GREAT SLICE OF LIFE!!!! I really like it. . . . . . . . The author certainly has good sense of humor. Despite its peculiarity, it still brings many interesting parts: how Naoto has been coping with the consequences caused by his parents' problems, how Yumiko stays strong after the divorce and the truth of her ex husband being gay, how Gorou shows that resting bitch and appears shady but is actually very compassionate about his husband and he is so kind to the others in his own way, and LAST BUT NOT LEAST Naoto and Kanda sure are awesome for they finally manage that far which is so rare happening these days. It's such wonderful thing that I could find this awesome story when lots of mangas these days don't have much quality.
