I'm pretty sure I read this manga couple of years ago but I never saw any explanations why count D had to fled america or anything about his father.
I randomly missed Count D today so I decide to re-read it and suddenly I noticed I don't recognize some of the chapters then bam, the ending also surprised me.
I swear the reread it couple of times before but the ending I remember was that Count D just randomly gone the next day with the cop trying to find his whereabouts.
i really thought at the end that was leon who chased count around the world in each chinatown (technically he did?) and finally reuniting.....and then finding out that’s chris all grown up! if that’s 20 years later that makes him around 26 years old, meaning leon is already 44-45 (they have an 18 year age gap) like bitch i’m kinda sad??? as rude, crude, and annoying as leon was it’s like i wanted him and the count to be together. they looked like they had fun together at times
No, it is Officer Leon who was chasing D. The D Chris found is the father grown up. Remember when the father got shot, died, then became a baby to be raised by the grandfather character? Yeah, that's him, all grown up as a brand new person (while the dad was the new characters origin he does not have those old memories. it is truly a reincarnation, he is his own person).

Made me cry like a bitch at chris's part. I love the stories and sad to see it end this way. I really want more parts with Chris as an adult visiting his old friends. This manga is definitely one of my new favorites!
I hate Leon...he's so nosy and forceful and every line of dialogue is "I'm taking you to the station" "is that illegal in arresting you" (even if it isn't illegal) "you seem suspicious I'm arresting you"...he does that carp 24/7 and every time there's no fucking evidence just him always wanting to arrest Count D for stupid shit...and even after finding out the shops secret he always seems to forget Count D has rules on the pets and if they aren't followed the customer will most likely end up dead..but nope in Leons mind after seeing this shut a hundred times he still goes crazy and threatens D... Like he's so damn annoying..in my opinion the manga would be 1000 times better if he was cut out..though I already love the manga I just can't stand seeing his fucking face
Of all animals in these stories, most of them fed off their owners but despite the abandonment and abuse only dogs stayed and love their masters. It's quite sad how realistic this manga is, and how frustrating how powerless I am not be able to help and protect these beautiful beasts.
