I was about to say the same!, I was so happy finding a familiar old manga that I loved before.. not until I reread it. Didn't expect I bat an eye on this back when I was a child. Lol (=・ω・=)
Y'all I remember reading this when I was like 12 thinking it was so romantic. This was awful to reread. He gets tricked into dropping out of school thinking he's getting a job to care for his only remaining family, then gets kidnapped and raped and isolated from his home country and culture
I read this like 10 years ago. I remember thinking this was cute. I was wrong. This isn't cute. Elsa "You can't marry a man you just met" will not approve this. Also, this is a crime. Human trafficking? A scam? Grandfather, you a criminal, Sir. You lied and then poor baby got verbally abused and then raped after his wedding. ALSO!! WHO TAUGHT THAT PRINCE MANNERS? I HAVE WORDS. Also Kairi, my child, you gullible little boy, who gets paid that much money for a housekeeping job?? Istg.
I was JUST saying this to my husband. I could see MC being a second spouse after MLgers a kid or two...but otherwise ML is going to have to himself a bredable side piece.
( unless uncle or big bro have kids that would then inherit, but then what's the point of the ML being named successor)

The only "rule" they had was to marry whoever a previous king chose. The heir issue could be resolved using more modern means like a surrogate, or adopting a relatives kid.

definitely a product of its time. Love the art style though, one of my favourites from back then

Yes I totally overthought this. Lol

If this was longer, I'd bawl my eyes out.
Somehow I keep coming back once in a blue moon to reread this AHAHAH
