Complete | seontae | 2000 released

ridiculously hot. fucking HELL, man... god. in any case, i absolutely LOVED being able to witness them slowly build up their trust in each other, as well as seeing their relationship steadily grow into something healthy and genuine. (well, i’m comparison to their beginning, at least. they went from semi-toxic mess to a strangely-nice mess. haha) but shieeet, i’m so happyyyy!!! just look at how far they've come! and that breath control aspect, too?! ughhh, that chapter nearly killed me. my babieeees, i love them. this has been such a joy to read. <33 or perhaps ‘thrill’ would be a much more fitting term, knowing the ‘theme’ and overall atmosphere of this manhwa… hah, i don’t even know. great storytelling nonetheless! P.S. i would’ve loved to write a more ‘worthy’ final review for this story than this lacking piece of… literary trash (???), but oh well. my mind’s blanking again, and i’m kinda struggling to conjure up something… coherent. something that’d properly sum up this whole reading experience. i’ll definitely reread it someday, though—mark my words!!! whichever way you look at it, this is a beautifully complex story with perfectly flawed, realistic characters. (with their hot, engaging BDSM sex-life being the cherry on top, heh.) definitely a favorite, no doubt! P.P.S. can’t wait for the epilogue chapter, ahhhh!!! i’m not quite ready to say goodbye to these folks just yet, goddammit.

My Suha

Complete | Chahyun | 2019 released

dude, this one gave me whiplash like craaaazy. still, i loved it! although, it came a point quite late in the story where i really struggled to continue reading. things turned out so depressing and soooo fucking toxic—more so than i ever would’ve thought when i first started out. (i guess i should’ve known, sheesh. just look at the damn title… looking back, there were soooo many red flags i missed.) nonetheless, in the end, i kept going… and i’m glad i did! i was reaaaally close to dropping this… for quite a few weeks, actually. but, as you know, i stuck with it and slowly adapted to the ‘fucked-up-slash-a-whole-lot-more-intense’ dynamic between our two mains. it kept things interesting, though—that’s for sure! i suppose i was just unprepared. (i’m not all that great with surprises.) still, the story had an overall nice conclusion! really, the wholesomeness of it actually surprised me a little bit. but throughout the manhwa, i did appreciate the realism of the characters’ personalities and how they both (i guess?) learned how to set healthy boundaries and respect each other in the end. but before that, it was nice seeing each of them come to their own individual realizations, grow and mature in their lonesomeness and then eventually get back together—stronger than ever—AFTER they’d worked on themselves and talked things out. aaaand, of course, i liked that their relationship wasn’t anything even REMOTELY close to perfect. but hey, at least they’d solidified a much stronger foundation for themselves than before, and they finally had a real shot at being happy because of it. this was the healthy BL romance i wanted at the start, but was unable to get ‘til the very end, haha! (‘healthy’ might be too strong of a word, but at least it turned into something could work for them in the long-run.) anyway!!! it’s been a good run. i’ll be looking forward to the upcoming side stories! edit: THIS SIDE-STORY IS LEGIT. SLAUGHTERING. MEEEEE. AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! omfg, y’all… siwoo actually violated do-hyeok. like, FULL-ON SEXUAL. FUCKING. ASSAULT??? genuinely, i never would’ve foreseen this. what an epic, twisted role-reversal!!! it’s surprisingly exciting… and satisfying, heh. (karma, anyone…?) revenge sure tastes sweet, ahhhh. <33 that’s a genuinely fucked up thing to say, i’m well aware, but at the end of the day, i 100% know that park do-hyeok caused lee suha soooo much more damage, both physical & emotional, than seo siwoo EVER could’ve done him. what he had to suffer (?) through was NOTHING compared to all the vile things he did to suha; pre- & post-relationship. besides that, it’s not often you get to firsthand witness the infamously sadistic, ‘i’m-the-top-in-this-relationship’ villain slash ex-abuser get his asshole completely WRECKED by said ex’s best friend as a form of carnal retaliation. and apparently, the assault was satisfying enough for him to actually look him up afterwards to get want more of , too…? like, that is undoubtedly and irrevocably FUCKED, bro. so fucking wack, right?! well, anyway… it’s surely, uh… an ‘interesting’ way of discovering he actually enjoys (even PREFERS) being a bottom… and not only that, but a bottom who now forces himself to become completely submissive in bed and let another man fully dominate him in bed. ahhh, the mere notion of it excites me so!!! what really tickles my pickle, though, is the fact that do-hyeok is WILLINGLY doing this much for a man who 1) went uno-reverse and used his own predatory tricks against him, 2) drugged him, 3) violated him, and 4) then went incognito on him—during their very first meeting, no less! that’s a seriously crazy fucking thing to get so turned on about and i motherfucking know it. even more so because i actually know the background and their circumstances!!! i comprehend the true extent of these wicked relationships, and i have an in-depth understanding of the characters in question as well. shit, man—i’m speechless. and horny. heeeelp. lmfao, i should be ashamed of myself. i AM ashamed of myself. more than anything, though, i’m actually more than a little surprised by the direction the story’s taking. it’s like i’m being introduced to two completely new characters, haha! i love it, and i love this dynamic!!! they have surprisingly good chemistry. sexual compatibility, too! (bet no one could’ve anticipated that, lol.) P.S. right now, i’m over here QUIVERING at the mere notion of sporadically getting to see even one more round of this ‘hookup arrangement’ they’ve set in motion… like the sick fuck i am, goddammit. what’s next, i wonder? will they become romantically involved?? will suha and jiwoon figure it out??? or will they just continue to hate-fuck like bunnies in secret until they break it off and continue their lives like nothing ever happened???? fuck me if i know. what an incredible sticky (and needlessly sexy) situation they’ve got themselves in, heh. but either way, it’s an intriguing twist no one will ever see coming—no matter how you look at it!!! i’m all for any available routes heading towards a redemption arc, too, or even a FRACTION of a possibility of future reconciliation… and; well, character development—naturally. i can see the light, good sir!!! it’s shining so bright. <33 P.S.S. dear author, i beg of thee: PLEASE turn do-hyeok into a docile little lamb and let siwoo continue pulling the strings. i absolutely love to see it, and there’s so much unexpected potential in this union. so, so many possibilities… i’m so excited for the future of this story these days—i can’t help myself, lololol. all i know is that THE. SMUT. IT. TOP. NOTCH. QUALITY. and there’s no going back now. keep up the good work!!! P.S.S.S. my dear, (please-fuck-me-you’re-so-hot) siwoo, whom i used to look at so natively… KEEP WRECKING OUR TOXIC REDHEAD WITH YOUR MONSTROUS GENITALS, GOOD SIR. just like he wrecked our precious little suha for absolutely no acceptable reason whatsoever. ahhh, how poetic this is!!! keep doing just like that, darlin’. he loves it. you love it. and WE love to see it. <33 this is the kind of toxicity i yearn for, haha. …i can’t believe i’m actually ‘cheering’ for sexual violence. what have i become, hmm? oh, well… i really can’t help but to like siwoo’s character. he’s surprisingly enticing. and suave. and ATTRACTIVE!!! like, soooo fucking attractive it’s KILLINGGGG MEEEEE. god… :D #final edit: aww, everything’s officially over now… i’m upset by the ending for siwoo and do-hyeok, even though i know it’s the ending that makes the most sense. :( didn’t really expect an open ending like THIS, though… i wonder if there’ll be another side story? or perhaps a whole different story set a couple of years from now?? do-hyeok’s last monologue seems to kinda leave that option open, but i don’t know… maybe i just don’t want to see it end like this. ;/ which is 100% true, too, lol. anyway, i suppose that’s it! i’m just relieved i made it through this in one piece. didn’t really think i would at first, knowing how unnaturally attached to this latter couple i became… vey much unlike how things progressed with suha and jiwoon. quite odd, hmmm. despite everything, it’s definitely been a consistent 10/10 read, though! as always, i love the emotional complexity. <33 #final FINAL edit: OMFG. ANOTHER SIDE STORY. I’M SO EXCITED, HOLY SHIT.

Sweet As Hell

Complete | SSAK | 2000 released

ughhh. i’m a little vexed, not gonna lie. don’t get me wrong, i DID enjoy this… the smut is SO. FUCKING. HOT, i was constantly turned on, and their chemistry and overall dynamic was nice… but did he really have to rape him that one time?? kinda fucked things up for me. and even though neither of them seemed to think of it as actual rape in the first place (more like a little weird and unexpected), it’s still off-putting knowing that he had sex with him while he was asleep—WITHOUT. CONSENT. it’s even more off-putting knowing that he’d already passed out the night before from having too much sex in the first place!!! looking back now, it probably wasn’t that big of an issue for those two as i’m making it right now, but ughhh. most other couples would’ve had serious problems with trust issues after an ordeal like that. oh, and before we move on for that subject, let’s not forget the fact that eui-hyun was purposefully trying to NOT wake him up during said sex as well?? because he figured he’d be too tired and worn out to say yes??? meaning he obviously KNEW he’d crossed the line before even doing anything since he was worried he’d get angry???? ughhh, what a dick move. all these moral dilemmas!!! i’m actually kinda surprised how bothered i was by this. i mean, these statements originate from someone with supposedly ‘immoral’ tastes; someone who has a lot of dark and twisted sexual fantasies. (i get off on domination—and, on occasion, moral ambiguities.) so, in another context, it’s possible i wouldn’t have minded what he did. but this?? nah, fam. not cool with me at all. BOUNDARIES!!! i mean, it’s one thing if he’d made it clear beforehand that he wouldn’t mind if choi eui-hyun were to do that to him while he was asleep or whatever—where’d it’d be to ‘wake him up’ or for his own pleasure. (knowing jung min and his personality, he quite possibly wouldn’t have had an issue with it—as long as it’s on his terms.) but ughhh, still!!! brooo, i’m so ticked off. so, with that being said: please ask for (and receive) permission from your partners before doing such despicable things, yeah? it’s called respect. just don’t fuck your partners without their fucking consent. oh, or even better yet!!! DON’T. BE. A. DISRESPECTFUL. FUCKING. DOUCHEBAG. ^^ anyway. that’s really the one thing i didn’t like about this manhwa. (i’m going to lower it to a 4/5 star rating instead of 5/5 because of it.) i’m pretty much okay with everything else that’s been going on between the two... i’m not personally into role-playing and such, but it’s always fun witnessing it being enjoyed elsewhere. honestly, i’m just content knowing that things seemed to be working out for them in the end, and that the ‘minor’ incident didn’t strain their relationship at all as much as i thought it would. by the time we’d reached the end of the story, a couple of weeks had already passed since those ‘morally corruptive’ chapters were published, and they really smoothed over the whole ordeal quickly, lol. our couple (kinda?) talked it over and then they just… moved on, i guess. no point stressing over something that doesn’t stress out those directly affected. and if the characters directly involved could move on without any worries, so can i! it’s their (fictional) lives, after all. so, naturally, other than that ONE specific part of this otherwise nice-and-kinky-but-occasionally-emotionally-dull-romance, i actually quite enjoyed the story! i’m not at all hard to please when it comes to books and literature in general, and i suppose a lot of people might call me a generous reviewer—but hey, it is what it is! i liked it. might even reread it someday! who knows? so, in conclusion, i MOSTLY enjoyed it. it was a fun read, and they both seemed genuinely happy by the end of the day, and that’s more than good enough for me. :)

One Take

Complete | 김쿠키, 애플파이,찰밥 | 2000 released

haha, this one was wild! i absolutely loved it. since it’s been a couple of months since i completed this manhwa, i’m a bit foggy on the details. however, i do recall having this sense of appreciation for the ending as it approached—simply because hyun-je’s ‘core’ didn’t do a 180 degree turnaround like MLs like him often do, but instead we got to watch him mature and gain insight about himself (and understand the consequences of his actions) as the story progresses. i really liked that part! made the story somewhat more realistic. one can’t expect people to change, because they won’t. and, in all honesty, they CAN’T. we are who we are, and he is who he is! we just gotta learn how to tolerate, appreciate and love people for who they really are—flaws and all. but still, i believe he learned how to be (somewhat) considerate towards seung-min and a bit more respectful of his boundaries as well. at least to some degree, i think… if my memory serves me correctly, that is. (lol.) as complex as his character was, i still thought it made sense overall and that they both got a decent ending—a ‘work in progress’ ending, i guess? or maybe an ‘open ending’ would be the preferable term. whatever. i actually kinda liked seung-min as well, though! i found his character surprisingly relatable, honestly. loved watching these guys grow closer together—and apart, i guess… (whenever the occasion might’ve called for it.) and even though they had… ‘some’ toxic moments, i still liked that they managed to reach some sort of middle-ground eventually. sheesh... at least they both seemed to be happy by the end of the day!!! as a reader, that’s all that really matters, anyway. just because i wouldn’t necessarily want to be in a relationship like theirs personally, it doesn’t mean everyone else feel the same. it doesn’t mean someone else can’t be happy ‘their’ way. it’s not MY life, after all. heh. #YOLO but anyway!!! it’s a shame i can’t really recall as much of this manhwa as i would’ve liked. ughhh. guess you can’t have everything. and even though the story’s technically marked ‘complete’, i’m still hoping for a couple more bonus chapters to wrap things up at some point!!! that’d be great. loved those vacay chaps. ^^

As The Lady Wishes

Ongoing | Yoo song joo,블랑피카 | 2019 released

well… i have mixed opinions about this one. for the first half of the manhwa, jinha was low-key ALWAYS freaking me out, lol. BUT!!! i eventually came to a point where i literally didn’t care about any of that anymore. i mean, if eunseo didn’t care about it, why should i? overall, she seemed perfectly content with him (and he with her), therefore i didn’t pay his shady behavior any mind beyond that. she loved him despite his flaws, and that’s why it think they ended up being quite the match in the end! obviously, their relationship didn’t start out perfect. (even though eunseo seemingly thought it was ideal, she hadn’t yet realized that he was playing a role, nor that she’d been manipulated by him since they were kids.) i mean, he’d been wearing this ‘good guy’ mask all throughout their lives—at least in her close vicinity—and once that mask finally came off, their prospects didn’t look all that great at first. but eventually, after jinha dropped his act completely and began being his true self around her, as well as when she started to see and treat him for who he really was, i think that’s when their relationship began to truly prosper... or at least they finally had an ACTUAL foundation they could start rebuilding their trust from. in the end, it obviously seemed to work out for them! (communication is KEY, y’all. don’t underestimate the act of proper communication.) anyway. at some point after all that madness, my previous doubts about them as a couple slowly began to disperse. it’s actually been a good while since i forgave that shady fucker by now… probably around chapter 50 or something of the like? honestly, i’m not too sure. either way, no relationship is perfect; theirs less than most. still, i personally think that if two people are happy with each other and feel content in each other’s company, nothing else really matters—despite everything that might’ve happened or left damage in the past. they’re not perfect individuals, not even close, but at least they can perfectly compliment each other and make each other grow. (well, at least somewhat.) but anyway!!! like i said earlier, they seemed to be good match despite everything else by the time we’d reached the end of the story. overall, i’ve enjoyed reading this every week! so, in the end, big daddy energy clearly triumphs any obstacles!!! duh, obviously. <3 #lmao #whyamilikethis
