…is corporal punishment an actual thing in some places? as in, it’s actually legal?? the fuck??? update: i just googled it and it is, in fact, legal. unbelievable. edit: i’m loving the story!!! i simply detest the whole notion of corporal punishment and violence in general, though. especially considering it just births even more violence that no one wants to take responsibility for. it’s a vicious cycle… quite literally, lol. i don’t really believe in morality (or any other social construct), but i fucking DETEST hypocrisy. don’t go around hurting other people if you can’t take a fucking hit yourself. treat others the way you’d want them to treat you. that’s it—it’s all there is to it!!! that should be common sense. fucking hell. anyway, daddy’s fucking haaaawt. his behavior kinda turns me on, lol. i don’t care how ‘violent’ he is, he could fuck me up any day. (and yes, i’ve got issues. i legit don’t care.) humanity’s trash and there’s nothing we can do about that, but sheeeesh. if i hit someone, i’d expect them to hit me back. (quid pro quo, my man!) it doesn’t mean that i will or even would, but at least i wouldn’t go around blaming other folks for being aggressive if i’m a physically aggressive person myself. but personally, i try to be the change i want to see in the world—as cliché as it sounds. and just as i’ve said before, i don’t particularly enjoy violence, but it is what it is. if someone were to hit me, i’d say i have every right to hit them back. i simply choose not to because it’s not something i wish to be an advocate for. still, this is a work of fiction and i know how to separate reality from that. i probably wouldn’t find a guy like this very attractive in real life, lol. well, maybe. i think…? anyway, all is fair in love and manhwa, as the saying goes!!! NO. is he a good person? ABSOLUTELY NOT. but do i respect his ingenuity and tenacity? FOR. SURE. he’s so cunning in everything he does, seriously. i admire the shit out of him. this dude is so funny, i can’t even... i just can’t. edit #5: THINGS. JUST. KEEP. GETTING. BETTER. AND. BETTER. this cunning motherfucker gives me purpose. whenever i see there’s a new update, i click on it immediately ’cause i already know i’m about to be cracking up like a cracked up hyena on motherfucking CRACK. this is comedic genius.

edit #4: i’m adding this way up here because i’ve really changed my mind since the beginning. to put it bluntly, i simply don’t wish for my earlier notes to put anybody off this story, lol. i LOVE this. i just finished chapter 82 and i’m pretty damn obsessed at this point. it keeps growing on me the more i read! anyway, just wanted to add this real quick. this review of mine really did a 180 from back in the day when i just started reading, haha. but the show must go on!!! i’m struggling to figure out exactly what this plot is supposed to be. i was hoping for something similar to solo leveling in both plot and quality, but i guess i shouldn’t have had such high expectations. (solo leveling is clearly SUPERIOR. in everything. lesson learned.) it just seems like homeboy’s on a vendetta to kill… uhm, everyone?? although i’m not even sure about that at this point. am i missing something crucial here??? i can’t seem to figure him out. i barely know what his personality’s like, nor what his actual intentions are. there’s so little depth at this point!!! i’m yearning for some amazing buildups and climaxes, but it doesn’t seem as though i’ll get much of either. the fights are all one-dimensional and anticlimactic as hell. i swear to f***, if this shit continues like this… i’ll be suing a bitch. anyway, i’ll stick around for a bit and see how things unfold. i’m only on chapter 30, after all. i’m hoping for some serious character growth and ‘skills’ which will be developed gradually and realistically over time; not some shallow rewarding system where he gains skills and items without having to do anything. it seems as though he does very little to earn the rewards he ends up getting right now. this shit is all over the place, lol. it seems as though this is merely a poorly executed attempt at a solo leveling remake. no one can beat, replace or rival sung jinwoo or his natural abilities. (CLEARLY.) well, not in this genre, at least. i suppose i should’ve figured that much beforehand, lol. i’m yet to come across one that can match SL in every aspect, and i’ve read and familiarized myself with quite a few comics within this genre at this point. i really feel like ranting about how great and complex and wonderful and captivating solo leveling is compared to everything else i’ve read up until now (which is quite a bit), but i’ll try to refrain. and even though i know one shouldn’t compare two different stories made by two different authors, i can’t help it in this case. there are way too many ‘attempted’ similarities between the two to ignore. siiigh… if you’re gonna try your hand at creating a new story based on (and clearly inspired by) an already loved and well-received novel and comic, at least make sure it’s worthwhile and not a cheap knockoff. it’s a shame, really. i can only hope that things’ll get better from here. i won’t hold my breath, though. edit: just started chapter 50 and i’m happy to announce that things are starting to get better and a lot more cohesive in the process! i think i’m starting to make sense of most things, but there are still a few question marks left. i’m uncertain about his motives and which ‘side’ he’s on still. i’ll keep reading! things are finally starting to become exciting. i’m starting to look forward to the next chapter as soon as i finish one! that’s a great sign in my book. edit #2: this man is so fucking sly. sheesh… and an excellent strategist at that. you go, sir!! fucking hell, i can’t decide whether i should admire him or despise him. perhaps i should settle with a little bit of both. the best of both worlds, aye? this’ll be fun. ^^ edit #3: don’t know how, when or why, but this has somehow become one of those updates i anticipate and look forward to the most. things have really gotten a lot better. can’t wait to see what’s in store for these guys! i take back most of the things i said in the beginning. i’m loving this!

(in a good way, tho!) i’m only seven chapters in and i can already tell that this’ll be a wild ride. edit: just finished all the available chapters and i’m in love. <33 definitely another new favorite. i’ve been sleeping on some really good comics lately, goshdarnit!!! — - — - — - — - — these were the notes i made while reading. thought they were pretty self-explanatory, so i’m just gonna go ahead and leave them here… ‘cause i’ve been lazy as fuck lately and i just don’t have it in me to do this properly at the moment, lol. either way, i’ve been thoroughly obsessed with this one ever since i first started out! man, i can’t believe it’s over. i’m really going to miss these guys. the smut was RIDICULOUSLY good, y’all. literally getting turned on just recalling it like the freak i am, haha. oh, and the character development’s been pretty damn evident, too! i quite liked hajun and shihyeon’s ever-changing dynamics. they were surprisingly wholesome together… and entertaining. especially towards the end! anyway, to sum things up real quick: THIS. HAS. BEEN. GREAT. no regrets. absolutely none whatsoever. i’ll definitely reread it one of these days, too! bro, i’m completely ENTHRALLED by this!!! man, that was one great manhwa. loved all three storylines! and each respective ‘black dragon romance’, so to speak. all three ’duos’ had intrinsically different dynamics and a unique atmosphere—each and every one of them very befitting each couple, too. honestly, this one’s been a lot more enjoyable than i originally thought it’d be back when i first started out. surprisingly enough, i’ve actually grown quite attached to most of these guys. this one really got me in my feels at times, too. i have no doubt that i’ll be rereading this one day! honestly, i wouldn’t mind a couple of epilogue chapters to finish things off (‘cause i’m greedy like that), but it’s definitely not necessary for the story to feel complete. i loved the ending, and we absolutely got our closure! (can’t see how or why anyone would ever disagree with that, but you never know, man...) anyway!!! i guess i’m just feeling a bit reluctant to let it go, lol. either way, i’ll be on the outlook for any other possible future stories by these creators! overall, i’m happy and content with what i got. <33

i’m completely OBSESSED with this. it’s dark and awkward and wholesome and i just love it. so different from everything else i’ve read! i don’t doubt i’ll be rereading this someday in the future.

omgomgomgomgOMG!!! literally just finished ‘at the end of the road’ for the umpteenth time just a minute ago and noticed this by accident, i already know that my whole damn year has been blessed. ;_; edit: 17 chapters later and i’m still rejoicing. <3 edit: 20 chapters in and i can officially allow the ship to set sail!!! edit #2: A 19+ SIDE STORY IS COMING OUR WAY!!! SIGN ME TF UP.

I didn’t even notice that I hadn’t marked this as ‘completed’ once i did, in fact, complete it back in July. Either way, it’s most definitely ONE. OF. MY. FAVORITE. YAOI. GRAPHIC. NOVELS!!! (As of late 2021, at least.) Fucking hell, y’all. The sex was so hot I thought I’d die pretty much throughout the whole thing, fuck. I kinda miss it… It’s been almost six months since the last time i read it, sheesh. I still remember it as if it was yesterday! I might actually go back and reread it soon. I remember really liking its conclusion, too. I enjoyed the (toxic) dynamics between our two mains, but I especially liked how it’d thoroughly changed by the time we reached the end of the story. It kept me captivated, that’s for sure!!! By the way, these were my notes while I was actively reading it: “i’m simping for vasya so. very. hard. (yes, i have issues.) but FUUUUCK MEEEE, HE’S SO FUCKING ATTRACTIVE!!! i literally start to get wet every single time he opens his mouth. GAAAAWD.” I guess it should tell y’all something, lololol. This was a good introduction story for me when it comes to unhealthy relationships, violence and toxicity. I’d never really entertained the thought before this, but maaan, it set the bar. Especially considering I’ve read more graphic novels with similar tropes, characters and characteristics than I can count on all my limbs at this point in time… and this one is still among the top few in which I can recall most details vividly and explicitly. Amazing. Anyway, you guys should definitely check this one out if you happen to enjoy violence, RIDICULOUSLY hot mafia men, as well as hot, steamy sex. Low-key getting wet just thinking about it, FML. (TMI but IDC.) Later skater!!! edit: by now, it’s mid 2023, and i’ve read this twice… and i’m definitely still a fan. it was a lot shorter and than i remembered, though… and kinda emotionally lacking, too?? like, their yoon’s feelings literally came out of nowhere all of a sudden. the whole thing felt kinda rushed because of that aspect, but other than that, i don’t really feel the need to add much to my previous review. (vasily’s smirk still gets me all hot and bothered, lololol.) still, to be fair, it’s been nearly three years since my first rodeo, and i’m bound to have much more ‘material’ to compare this manhwa to, no? so yeaaaah, i can’t really say that it’s all that ‘steamy’ compared to all the others things i’m reading these days. if anything, their smut’s actually pretty tame… graphically speaking, i mean. i do love me some intricately graphic sex. ;) but anywayyyy, that’s about it.
