Dye of Love

Complete | Fujikawa Ruri | 2009 released

Tokiwa, a designer, rejects the romantic interests of his young cousin, before Ai fully realizes them. When Ai becomes a gifted fabric colourist, he takes the opportunity of Tokiwa's desire to use his talent in order to coerce him into a sexual relationship through contractual obligation, but after a terrible secret is revealed by a member of Ai's family, he wakes up to what he has done. How does Tokiwa feel about it? A classical romance. The three subsequent one-shots are less interesting.

Aiyoku Heaven

Complete | fujikawa ruri | 2000 released

Motorcycle racer, Hayase Mahiro, has nothing left but crushing debt and a big attitude. Along comes Shiro Kiryuu, handsome strange guy, with a proposal and a lot of intense stares. Kiryuu owns a fancy-schmancy host club, and a widow is willing to pay Mahiro big bucks for dinner companionship and a night of chitchat because he reminds her of her late husband. Mahiro thinks "Hmm, this isn't so bad" because he's completely forgotten the part where Kiryuu laid out the terms of employment where Mahiro has agreed to be his slave. The debt/contract sex theme bears some similarity to Nishimura Shuuko's Kishidou Club Bangaihen, but the set-up isn't quite as novel yet and the key difference is that Mahiro doesn't love Kiryuu ... yet. I presume that will change.

Classic campy horror about magic spells centered around ancient Chinese superstitions and possessed dolls. Very entertaining.

Multiple formulaic stories mainly around the theme of a luxury hotel chain with a cupcake yakuza short at the end. The concierge spends more time messing around the bed and bath of his schmancy French lover of than serving his clients, but at least he's serving someone.
