The fox wedding is carried out between the first born sons of two families in a small village to keep the village prosperous. Two childhood friends struggle with the idea of true love vs duty, even though they are genuinely in love with each other, especially the Seme who has always been in love with the Uke.
Middle story switches to the dads aka previous generation. They went through the same ceremony, loved each other, but "broke up" to get married to continue the bloodline ensuring that the tradition will carry on. I feel like the sons' story needs to continue to explain how they will deal with carrying on the tradition since they seem more head strong than their fathers about their feelings for each other. I highly doubt either of the sons will agree to marry women, so how will this tradition continue? Also odd that there is no mention of the moms after that middle story. The dads are still around, and close, though it's not implied that they're "together" in the same lovers sense as before.
