ALisAnimeLover's manga / #doormat(2)

Utsukushii Karada

Complete | kashima kotaru | 2019 released

The only thing I like about this manga is that the seme didn't rape the uke when given the chance to, and instead he wanted to build up trust between himself and the uke. The manga had great ideas - the beast painting which represents the seme; how the seme was a painter before but quit. And some cliche ideas - uke liked seme's painting; there was a random insert famous person who likes the seme's works. But what made it bad was the pacing, execution and script. Looking forward to the author growing though, they've got potential.

Thank you for the meal

So... I can't tell if the uke is a doormat who's way too in love with the seme so he just forgives the seme's sexual harassment and attempted rape so easily, or if he has a savior complex like his friend joked about. Probably both. The seme is also a dipshit, but he's aware of it, and did change. And that's why I gave 2* instead of 1* lol. (He apologized for the rape attempt and clarified why he was having a breakdown then; he did get better and went back to school and all; he got back with his gf (which is expected) and dumped her once he realized it was a mistake and she's just treating her like a lottery she won (this went for only a few pages so it's badly executed, but it's there at least)). A lot of times, I feel like I missed a page or a chapter because of how fast the story went. Especially in the latter half where the seme meets his gf again then all of a sudden they're together; then the uke confesses, next page, they're having sex; etc etc. This leads to the issue of sensitivity of the topic, because it goes at a very fast pace, putting neat details all together in a mess (honestly, it did have good parts, just not executed well). I don't like how it fetishized anorexia, though at the same time, it portrayed it well (in some parts). Would probably have been better with a little more sensitivity put into work.
