Basically: Game of Thrones, manga addition. Although you get to see a lot of perspectives, it's mostly concentrated on our homie Richard, and I honestly love his character. All heil out gender diverse queen... king. It's the type of story that never gives you a breather, and shit consistently goes down. Literally none of these kings was able to catch a break lmao. There's this sense of realism in the story and at the same time it also feels a bit theatrical... It's very Romeo and Julietesque, especially because Richard keeps on taking the L when it comes to his love life, but that's part of the appeal for me. I like to cry over tragic lovers while seeing political shenanigans go down.

Sister, I Am the Queen in This Life

80/ So far so good. MC is yeeted back in time after having been betrayed by her fiance and half-sister. She sacrificed herself for her lover and family and, of course, all of them end up being huge, clout-hungry losers who stab her in the back. And this time around she is dead set on never getting engaged to that particular loser, while making sure to get a sweet, sweet taste of revenge. Let me say this. The drama here is mostly just people gesturing wildly while explaining/lying their way out of an accusation, or making one. So it's not for everyone, welcome to most shoujo manhwa. Anyway, the characters have some spicy developments, but I feel like sometimes everyone's feelings are just a bit too on the nose, they all get at least two povs of their mean-ass thoughts lmao. I feel disappointed how Isabella is just this vain spoiled brat, but the co-conspirator to Ariadne's betrayal/murder, a snakey lil cheating bastard, gets all this tragic backstory and exposure about his lonely, sad childhood. Like come on, the double standard. Why isn't Ariadne trying to take revenge on him, too? She keeps going on about stopping him, avoiding him, but why not about putting him down with her shitty half-sister? I hope that's still to come. Looking forward to it, none the less.
