Mittens's manga / #a LGBTQ BAR(1)

Sei Kaihō Sorezore no Ainokatachi

Ongoing | Alt hanakage | 2019 released

SO! WELL! DONE!! I can not express my joy at finding and reading this! It's a sapphic/woman targeted work which caught my attention at first. Before we get into the rest it should be noted that no the man in the cover, Taichi, isn't a part of the main love story. They are in a love triangle but it's unrequited on his side. The main girl is a lesbian. There is also lots of CWs for SA, homophobia (lots of internalized homophobia), and sexual harassment. The first few chapters arent anything worth remarking on. We meet our main girl Mio as she laments about her past. We learn that she is a lesbian but tries to conform to heteronormativity because she feels it's the only way to be "normal" among her peers. This is where the big chunk of those CW regrading SA comes in as she was assaulted in her past by an ex boyfriend. It's not very explicitly shown as with all sex scenes in this manga but beware. We also meet Taichi and Reika, the other girl on the cover. Honestly the first few chapters dragged so I'll skip to the part where the story kicks off, the ONS with Reika. After they hookup that first time the story starts to have trouble with it's pacing. There is an unclear timeskip between them doing that and them becoming lovers but that happens. I was going to drop it at this point but then I got to chapter 7. My dear Reika goes off on a co-worker who starts patronizing their outed relationship together. All of her points on how people view lesbian relationships was AMAZING! Chapter 8 is another big CW for homophobia. as I said the story gets really fast paced at this point so skipping ahead again its three years later and REIKA RUNS A LGBTQ BAR WITH THE TAGLINE BEING TRANS FRIENDLY! I screamed when I saw this! The author knows what the people want. I don't want to explain the story bit by bit but basically? If you like wlw content that doesn't come off fetishizing then you've come to the right place. Everything feels so real, even the internalized homophobia moments (that they overcome just fyi)! My sapphic enby heart thanks this manga
