pinkstarred's manga / #Age Gap(147)

Kikoeru?

Complete | HASHIMOTO Aoi | 2000 released

It was a really sweet shounen Ai story with a slow paced love. But then, BAM! those yaoi extras...unexpected but hot. A pure romance with a happy ending. Also I love sensei's art, the guys are so pretty.

Joou to Shitateya

Complete | Scarlet Beriko | 2013 released

So just finished and enjoyed it. The story is average. I'm a big fan of sensei's work she does a wonderful job blending beautifu sexy characters with adorable cute action/emotion scenes and her her stories have an intriguing quality. Love the art, and this pairing was unexpected. In that you would definately think the uke/seme positions would be reversed, it was a refreshing change.

Metro Dog

Complete | KUSAMA Sakae | 2000 released

I almost gave up on this story, but luckily I stuck it out. I came for the art, but was having a tough time with the slow gloomy feel in the first chapter. But it gets better and is a warm and touching story about love. It's not your cookie cutter roles, just two people falling for each. There is ante gap but I didn't even realize that there was one until I was told. These types of stories are my favorites, because the whole typical uke/seme thing gets old after awhile. This was cute (Shinoda reference). (^ー^)ノ

Hana wa Saku ka

Complete | HIDAKA Shoko | 2007 released

This was an all around good story. It took its time and developed the relationship and made you care for the characters. Definately recommend.

Shinjuku Lucky Hole

Ongoing | kumota haruko | 2012 released

This was actually quite dark but somehow kept a light tone. It's about AV company and the people who work there. It keeps you laughing at times and blends comedy and tragedy well. You don't feel wrecked at the end and that's probably because Kumi doesn't act like a victim. He has this coquettish charm about him even though he went through some fucked up shit. I really like his character. The art is gorgeous, the characters arnt cookie cutter and not ur typical bishi's. They all look distinct and have a bunch of personality. A good read.

Mauri to Ryuu

Ongoing | Moto Haruhira,Moto Haruko | 2013 released

Okay, I really want to love this, but all the child like young uke's bug me especially compared to the mature semes. Though the first collection of stories don't go into yaoi so it's better I guess. But otherwise I love the sweet natured tone and theme of this manga. It's so original and really refreshing and seeing Raiku protect Mauri was so freaking cute. I love the gorgeous art it's so charming and whimsical, you really get transported. The characters are so beautiful.

Rules

Complete | Miyamoto Kano | 2007 released

About a boy coming to terms with being gay and finding acceptance. Goes into those darker themes full of doubt and angst and beyond. It follows multiple characters in relationships and how they made a place for themselves.

Aioi Musubi

Complete | syaku | 2000 released

Very quiet and introspective. You see the struggle to change the nature of their relationship. Not a lot happens. The story isn't linear but a collection of interactions. Beautiful sketchy art style and the expressions are great. There's this sultry provocative aura that beckons you. The characterization is a bit lacking, I want to love these guys. Very close, with great potential.

Yamada To Shounen

Complete | mita ori | 2015 released

This was one of my first yaoi mangas and it is still one of my absolute favorites. What a gem. The sweet love unfolds slowly and naturally you see their relationship blossom as they get closer. A perfect blend of shounen ai with yaoi, not super spicy but satisfying and sweet and unrushed. The art style is endearing and oh so perfect for this fluffy adorable pair. It's simple line drawing and unique style is refreshing and whimsical. I absolutely adore this sweet and sloppy pairing.
