our little protagonist is a little girl who lost both her parents... She also lost her will to live. She heard a rumour that there live a shinigami who made coffin deep inside the forest, so she went to him and asked him to build her a coffin AND KILL HER.
It was so sad. A little powerless girl walked all the way from the city through a harsh forest just to meet the shinigami. That's when shinigami decided to raise her. He said she had to learn what love is first before she died.
