Juli's manga / #I absolutely ADORE this Author(2)

Blue Sky Complex

Ongoing | ichikawa kei | 2013 released

This manga was absolutely stunning. It's a consensual, normal relationship, with normal problems and they don't exaggerate their sexuality but rather love each other for each other. It did upset me a little that natsuki kept assuming chika was straight even though he never said so, not once, but I can look past it a little since they are madly in love and it didn't matter anyway. Their love is so passionate and they actually are careful about things in public and are considerate of close family even when they feel aroused, which in the real world, most people get nervous cause family's home. I'm glad at the beginning they took things slow enough so they didn't just have sex first thing. ANOTHER THING IM COMPLETELY ASTOUNDED BY is the fact that this story didn't push cheating or a fucked up story line of natsuki having sex with the perverted old man who made his move, especially while drunk. Most stories show pedophilic actions or molestation and think that's fine or try to make that a cool storyline but honestly it's disturbing and a terrible plot point, BUT THEY DIDN'T. HE PUSHED HIM AWAY AND REFUSED WHEN IT GOT WEIRD. This entire story warms my heart and even though there was like one bathroom scene, I think it's good that they got a little kinky and stepped out of their comfort zone. AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THEIR CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT OMG. At the beginning chika a closed in person who is bored of life and has no interest in friends really (even if he has some), but throughout the story he starts opening up, getting more comfortable, finding friends, and overall become a warmer person. At the beginning for natsuki he was a delinquent who pushed people away and drinked frequently, making terrible grades, and generally not caring about anyone, but as the relationship continues and starts he becomes kinder, more considerate, studious, and way more loving. I liked that they incorporated some family background and realistically how their futures would play out. I was a little disappointed that natsuki never really "met" chika's father even if he was busy and I wished chika would've told his family, but sometimes it just doesn't happen and that's okay, maybe it'll still happen, you never know.
