Cosette mother was assassinated and so she want to take revenge, she then created a contract with the devil and so cosette was posessed by a devil. It says that the Duke turned back the time just to save himself because the world was at destruction at that point of time due to the devil inside cosette and showed his true intention. The devil there was the king of the devil so he was powerful and wants to kill keira first because she has the power of saintess. So in short the Duke was just a selfish dude and doesn't care about his daughters and just went to sacrifice keira for the sake of his reputation at the first life. At the end keira and zeke became an adventurer and she didn't forgive her father. Whenever they went home their dad will often talk to them but they're ignoring him. There's also no male lead stated at the video. Well we're not sure if they'll follow this plot from the novel.
