Mark me down as a fan of Scarlet Beriko! Best friends wander into murky territory when Masayuki discovers that Kei's legs look good in pantyhose. Their mutual friend Katsumi is in a relationship with the school doctor (lookalike to the tailor in my favorite story by this same author). Scarlet has a way of drawing you into the character's emotions. Her work is wonderfully sensual and moving, and the relationships feel genuine and deep. I laughed out loud and scared the dogs when Katsumi sent a picture of sensei post-sex. Scarlet reverses the genre's stereotypes about who plays what role in the bedroom and I love it. If she ever goes team switch, I'll die.

Chapters 1-5 are a great love story between longtime friends. Chapter six veers into abusive noncon territory but features an on-page wedding, only the second I can remember seeing (the other in Haru wo Diete Ita). The final chapter is two high school students with mutual crushes.

After the war, Erwin and Levi live quietly on a mountain. SPOILER SPOILER It's actually Erwin dreaming after he loses his arm, but it ends happily. I'll just pretend it's the real ending.

Kami is recovering from a broken heart (see Sofure Buka, ch. 5). He is shocked one evening when a reporter named Waki bursts into his apartment and eats his food on live TV. But Waki turns out to be friendly and they start having lunch together regularly. The day Waki doesn't show up, Kami figures he's been forgotten again, but Waki shows up at his apartment that night saying he's been reporting on a massive fire all day. His own house was lost and he has nowhere to go. Seeing a chance, Kami asks him to stay. A promising start! I hope this is continued. Kami's first story was heartbreaking and I'd like to see him happy. It seems to end well! YAY!!! ETA August 2020: The story is being continued! We plunge into drama territory when Waki gets a popular woman costar and there are rumors of a relationship.

A refugee who has spent most of his life in a hospital escapes and proposes to a novelist he admires and happens to meet at a bar. I didn't think Chris's mental state was defined enough for this to really work, or that we saw enough of his influence on the novelist (beyond knowing he did write again), but it had a quiet tone.

A frustrating man with zero social skills is taught them by a friendly waiter who falls for him. The one where the guy hates carrots and the last page is the two of them with Shinobu's mom, and Shinobu is bragging that his boyfriend can open any jar.

Two boys who meet through a part-time summer job fall into an innocent first love. (First few & final chapter) Childhood friends who discovered intimacy with each other haven't spoken for five years after they were caught & are reunited.

The next stage of the relationship: moving in together

This is The Happiest Story. Two single dads meet in the mornings dropping their sons off at school. The sons are dear friends, and the dads grow close, helping one another to cook and manage their lives. When one loses his apartment in a fire, they combine households temporarily out of necessity, and it becomes harder to hide feelings for one another. The dads are great, but the kids MAKE this story. They're adorable. Be aware that Kentarou works in porn at one point, and having sex with someone else is part of that work. He sees it as work and so does Asakura.
