I guess in a way it's good he didn't end up with the bestfriend. Bestfriend seems like a good guy and he doesn't deserve someone who thinks that very little of him. They've been friends for some time, right? Yet his confession wasn't valued enough, he was tossed aside and dissed even. Now that I'm favoring the mc less and less I'm starting to see how his "pretend you're in love with me" scheme in that fake date was manipulative. If it had come from the crush, it would have added a bit of drama, but from him? No. I feel like the whole story wasn't well thoughtout, like it was written by someone immature.
