I think people thought there's rape because I think the author and artist intended to imply that there might be after chapter 3. They played around the idea of rape being so normalized in this trope that people may think that way. The assault done on the guide by the MC (esper) was unconsciously done. He was high from guiding and the guide couldn't get out of his hold. That's an esper, he's just a guide. So yep, no rape.
