I love this so much. It reminds me of reading Georgette Heyer's "A Civil Contract" or Judith McNaught's "Paradise" with a good portion of Jane Austen's "Persuasion" put in the mix. A definite recommendation. The narration style is mature and believes in the reader's intelligence while also conveying intense emotion and heartbreak. The two main leads are destined for each other and although I also think Barten was a solid second lead, he cannot come close to the burning passion that tied together Lily and Edward. There are so many bare feelings laid out before us, but it never comes off as pretentious or a victim complex. Lily's character development (while some of it happening off screen) is truly commendable and I wish more media would adapt similar methods when writing "dependent, naive women". Lily isn't praised for being sheltered, not my her male lead, not by the author, but where Edward judges her too harshly because of his prejudices, the narrator always makes sure to paint her side of the story and make us understand her more and why she acts the way she does. The story effectively makes commentary upon class, sex and capitalism throughout the story without lecturing its audience - a quality most recent media severely lacks. The artstyle is unique, appealing and a perfect fit for the atmosphere of this fictional universe. So, in conclusion: I highly HIGHLY recommend "Glass Wall". A gem amongst the overbearingly nonsensical and repetitive content we usually see in the historical romance manhwa genre.
