The world building isn't very expanded upon, yet it feels all the wide. It is focused on the magic school, Lagen and just with that sort of knowledge it feels like I've been delved into an entirely new universe that's feels extremely familiar and comforting. Along with this, the mangaka does an extremely well job of tying the heart wrenching moments with the sweet, but also with the horror of the daunting reality that one is going to die and the other will be left as the only one with the memories of their previous life.
