Portrait (natsume Kazuki)
This has to be the best oneshot I've ever read! It doesn't feel rushed at all; everything from the pace of the plot to how the mangaka managed to subtly convey the feelings of the characters without making it cringe-worthy or shallow. I really love this <3

I read this one about a year ago; I love all of Takarai Rihito's work! Beautiful art, beautiful story (this one is tragic, though)

This mangaka simply amazes me; everything feels so carefully crafted - the characters, their personalities, the dynamics between the couples as well as the organic yet intangible, "seamless" little details that connect to form a beautiful narrative. Just like the mangaka explained herself in the postscript, she employs a cinematic style of narrative and it works incredibly well. I'm in a state of being completely overwhelmed by her skills - I've felt out of touch with my emotions for a long time now, however, her narratives manage to pull my heartstrings like nothing else.
