1996. Really interesting concepts the author played with. Angels & Demons have been done before but they're always a personal favorite. I wish there had been more explanation in the story's lore of how angels, demons in human bodies works. More defining of the spirits, their world, & the mingling of ours would've invested & fascinated me more. What are spirits? Can they die? Is a spirit in a human body restricted to the same physicalities? How do they die? Where do they go when they die, back to heaven or hell? How are spirits able to enter our world? Who can see them? Are they able to shapeshift or can they only possess someone? What's the difference between a regular human & a spirit in human form, do they just have super powers or smth? Technically, some panels & the actions depicted were hard to visually understand. Not good visual flow or direction. One panel, a character is jumping in the air, next they're kneeling on the ground. With nothing to lead the eye, I wonder how they got there. I wish they would pull camera back & use bigger panels, not only for impact, but to get a clear understanding of the situation/ environment/ actions.

1997. Love the fashion depicted. It both enriches the aesthetic of the manga & is also indicative of the time period. Love the bits of detail in backgrounds/ props. It's few but still informative. The thin lines & blocky/ thin forms look very 90s. Graphic design of cover pages look humble & cute. Has page layout of the 90s ( overlapping thin lined panels) About a young 6th grade girl following her dreams to be in show biz. Cute, innocent, idealized outcomes. Read chp. 1.

1994. Incomplete. It's interesting to see how the 1990s manga has such a distinctive look. It's made up of a lot of thin lines of all the same contour. There's a distinctive openness where the lines are not all connected (most notably in hair) & there's a lot of bare space. There's also the mild use of geometric shapes as decorative elements, for example, framing a speech bubble in circles, having plaid in background. The actual plot is very mild & slice of life. There's no problem or climax so far, it's just characters going about their lives. Some stories draw you in with plot ( the actual events) some pull you in with the concept or premise( a specific idea/ scenario which perpetuates or drives the story), & others have a theme (subject matter). This is cooking themed. This is the kind of story where the theme, or subject matter, & all that entails pulls you in. So it's right off the bat telling to this is about the subject of cooking. So I expect warm cooking & coziness, fuzzy feelings, etc. & My expectations were met so far!

1994. "Follow Me". Main girl is assertive, goal oriented, independent! She's perceptive too. I love how she's depicted. The shady business man is an interesting mix of being an arrogant, shady, asshole to also seeming cute in a straightforward, responsible way at times too. Miyuki is also a genuinely sweet boy, & a perfect fantasy boyfriend. I also love the attention to the fashion. It's very much of a time period. Only reason this is 3 stars is because it's not finished.

1996. Story about Broadway dancing in NY America where leading girl falls in love with leading boy. Pretty basic romance it seems. Author kept emphasizing how cute she looks when she'd act bratty so I didn't find her too remarkable of a character. Drawing for figures & backgrounds looked great. Dancing was visualized well with good posing. Pages were often too cluttered with many small panels crammed in one page & too many speech bubble, so there was not alot of room for the drawings, subsequently showing little & uninteresting shots.

1990. About the adventures of a young boy thief and his love. Really not the best. Had a silly tone which was fun and cute. Bits of logic were dumb. I was not too fond of the romance. The love interest is a kindergartner who acts like a "lady". Even for a parady, i don't like that she was put into a mature role. Great art style!

1993. I had a hell of a time reading this. Tale of two brothers , who've only got each other in this cold, harsh city. Fun action, fun plot, unique art! This was very easy to read. The stories weren't too long or complicated. I loved it!
