Fraiser's manga / #Possesive Seme(3)

4 Week Lovers

Ongoing | Maroron | 2019 released

7/08/22: So 2 old friends who were almost something a bit more, meet again after a few years in college. Seme confesses to uke, but for some reason, the uke does not want to allow himself to be in a relationship. He is of the breed of uke who feels like he descended from Ritsu Onodera. That is not a good thing. It means he's kind of tsundere and will have sex with the seme and enjoy it, but then will continue to rebuff his affections. Seeing this kind of character can be frsustrating, but what makes it work or at least be tolerable is that the story acknowledges his fake behavior. Character knows he loves seme and is honest in his head but, he himself wonders why he can't let himself be happy. I found this part of the writing confusing. It could be because something was lost in translation, idk. But I'm not sure why MC doesn't want to allow himself to be with seme. Meanwhile, seme is just being a dreamy boyfriend character who is super dopey and crazy about uke and is such a simp for him. It's quite interesting! The characters have depth & it goes past the tsundere miscommunication trope & dives more into the character's life & personality. The logic is self aware of the bs & characters wonder, "Why am I like this?" getting introspective about why they hold themselves back. It's also sex, sex, sex! The drawings are nice. I'm not a fan of the style necessarily cuz it reminds me of Sword Art Online or smth, but they are GOOD drawings! Unfortunately, I only made it to Chp. 30 because some chapters are missing.

Damn good!!!!! Set in a fantasy world where there are "Espers" who have supernatural abilities to fight monsters, they maintain their destructive power of their own abilities with the help of "Guides", who balance their energy with physical touch. This is to stop the Espers from going on a "rampage" in which they lose control and risk becoming monsters themselves, according to the story. So it seems like "Guide x Espers" is the new story trend! Ooh! This is the 3rd webtoon I've seen in a short time. Our MC is a Guide who works for a Guiding Agency to support Espers as they defend the city from monsters. Both Guides and Espers are split into classes with S & then A classes being the highest. This is to measure power and compatibility. With this dependent relationship, it is common for Guides and Espers to date. After a messy breakup, our MC, who is a humble B class Guide, transfers to another branch of his agency for a fresh start. Upon entering he gets involved with a troublesome S class Esper who is wreaking havoc. Despite the class difference, the physical nature of the Esper who feels pain from Guiding, and his problematic behavior, they have a great compatibility! Now, our MC who is jaded towards love and just wants a peaceful work life free from relationships, has a possessive Esper chasing him who is crazy about him!!! Seme is ideal fictional bf material. He's like the bad boy who is over powered and super possessive and protective, but also a broken boy and only you can comfort him... I genuinely like the lore of the concept. There could have been more world building since it mainly focused on the relationship aspect, but it still works. I like the realtionship dynamic between the two. They both have issues and trauma they are respectively going through. Uke: just came out of a painful relationship with someone who cheated on him with a woman and got her pregnant, but also didn't want to commit to him in case another Guiding partner came along with better compatibility. He deals with issues of betrayal and insecurity in relationships, wondering if the love is real or if its because of the Guiding, and wondering if they will stay with him. Seme: he had a broken childhood in which all the close people around left him and had experiments done on him (I think?). He never got true affection. He has Abandonment issues. I think the general relationship dynamics of the Guides and Espers is interesting as we see both the characters being emotionally burdened by it. MC has trust issues with love because of it, Seme feels pain from most Guiding (except from the MC) and wishes he didn't need it. I found it interesting what the seme said about this, because in this story we still have the general BL seme-uke dynamics where the Seme is the more physically powerful one, but with the Guide-Esper dynamics ontop of subverting that. Seme says that Espers are at the mercy of Guides, because Guides can exist on their own, but Espers will always need Guides. I found all of this lore and and realtionship drama really interesting. This was a great read! I left off at Chapter 43. 8/2/22
