READ AUTHORS OTHER WORK Im so glad im reading this. This author makes great stories & im had i tried this one!!! I'm really enjoying this so far. I love the world building & the concept for it: it takes place in a future dystopian kind of post-disaster version of Tokyo. It is constantly hot summer year round (relateable much) due to the MAGICAL intervention of a wizard against disastrous flooding (implied from global warming, I feel). This wizard saved the people yet ruled them in a cruel uncaring way. Old wizard has passed so one of leads (unbeknownst to our MC) is next in line to rule as wizard. So he's navigating the slums & familiarizing himself with the major problems in their society. I hope he actually tries to do things differently & right what the old wizard did wrong. That's what I hope for because that would be a cool idea. Setting in Tokyo is all topsy turvy & there are alot immigrants it said, so we get to see alot of pretty Chinese styled outfits. I love the idea & the illustrations of the settings in this story. There are slums & the rich, pristine cities which are separated by social class. Connecting them is an abandoned subway used as a secret route. These are fun ideas to me! I like the silver haired wizard. At first I found him as unpleasant as the MC did, but later he grows on me as we get to see his arrogant attitude, but then see him chase after & help the MC. The dark haired MC lives in the slums. I admire his strength & resolve to survive in their messed up world & work towards his brighter future. Also want to add I like the assortment of different costumes we get to see. The wizard also has an interesting design idea. He's mentioned before how he has a rare hair color & does not want to draw attention to it in the slums as that could be dangerous. So what they had him do is, He ties up his hair close to his head in a subtle way, & then hides the back with cropped layer of hair, so it just looks like he has normal short boy hair. Then when he goes home, he lets his long hair down. It's a cool idea & I wished they showcased it more. Good ideas need to be shown off. In general, i appreciate when characters have appearance changes. I feel they should, we wear different hats for different occasions after all.
