In the first chapter, I thought he was a coddled rich kid who spent his family's money, and they cut him off, leading to him becoming the person presented to us. In reality, he was cast out the moment he no longer fit the image and path they had planned for him, and an ex left him at his darkest hour, causing him to fall further into the abyss. The love he thought he found, which he believed was real and genuine, was a facade, so even in Chapter 2 now, when he should be hurting, he just wants to love again, even if it's the wrong way. Chihiro....I wish he didn't meet up with the ex.....he clearly wasn't ready for.... he was a mess when he got the message and was an even bigger mess of brokenness at the restaurant. Keito likes to pretend he is better than Chihiro, but in reality, Chihiro truly longs to belong to someone and be deeply loved, mimicking his own making his mask crackle.
