The ML is such a certified grade-a asshole and I hate the whole "The guide bending to the esper will" kind of trope but in this case you have an esper pulling out all stops and tricks bcus of a guide who can handle himself, constantly fights back and refuses him every chance and that's why I like the MC so much bcus he has yet to back down or yield against the esper dispute being put in difficult situations due to that set esper.
