hayakawa nojiko delivered the most beautiful thing ive ever laid eyes on. the story is simple, the relationships straightforward, but the nuanced, complicated, messy dialogues and heart-wrenching, GORGEOUS illustrations made it so that the reader can feel exactly the way the characters are feeling and its just SO effective. hoshino is adorable and kind-hearted. i love him. i love every single characters in this, even the passersby had so much charm in them that i ended up loving the world created even more. man i just love hayakawa nojiko’s way of telling stories, and i think this is the best one for me.
