I just recently finish reading the novel (Chapter 66) and I must say... The ML is not the worst *sshole of a crown prince/emperor. (He is arrogant and prideful but he is not *sshole enough compared to other Crown prince/Emperor I have read so far.) Why? He didn't r*pe the FL, he didn't killed nor force the FL to ab*rt the child, he didn't blame the FL for stupid things she didn't do, he never compare her to any woman, he didn't physically or mentally abuse her, he didn't replace her in his life for 6 years, he didn't bring in any illegitimate child from a secret relationship, he didn't bring in concubine or lovers and most importantly he didn't killed the FL by accusing her crime she or her family committed. It is true that he was not the ideal husband to get. That the smart and almost perfect FL deserves much more than being with the ignorant ML who doesn't look for the FL for almost 6 years. He aspire to be a good emperor different to his grandfather and father but he needed to let go of her empress who's father wanted to manipulate him just like the former Emperor. Maybe it's right, maybe it's wrong. We are not in a position to tell him the consequences of his actions . That's what I love about this novel. The ML is try to learn from his mistakes and the FL refuse to be with him for a greater purpose of protecting their child. It was an amazing story so far. So I will keep on reading this.
