A very quaint story that mostly delivers on the promise of a sweet and committed couple. Probably due to that set premise, the writer struggles with finding a valid conflict or any reason why the story would be as long as it is. Ultimately, they didn't want to make the uke's uncertainty a palpable aspect of the story, probably not to hurt the seme, who is in love and ready to be married to him at any given moment. Those gutless decisions really affected their overall dynamic. We get a person who is allegedly unsure of his feelings towards this man when there is virtually no indication of that, as a matter of fact, the opposite seems to be true: he has a bunch of romantic flashbacks of the many years they spent together, he is immediately willing to kiss and have sex with him, and they behave like a couple pretty much from day one. There is no real doubt or intrigue, it feels like they needed him to vaguely refuse the proposal, just so they could stretch the story for 8 chapters. There is a character that has no business existing in the story, the right-hand man for our politician main character, there just to humiliate our vulnerable protagonist into submission. The writer seems to think his behavior is not only acceptable but also funny, he gets a redemption arc, and we're supposed to forget about everything he did.
