It subverts a lot of expectations Yaoi readers may have, like wanting to see a gay relationship that still follows the gender binary and adapts to the straight gaze. Both the uke and seme are rather feminine, the seme is especially girly and that's never painted as something to be ashamed of.
The uke also seems comfortable having the seme call him princess and your highness generally being pampered "like a girl", it's honestly a breath of fresh air.
PS: Through chapters 1 and 2 the uke gets bullied (very cruelly if I may add) and it's quite shocking, especially since the general tone of the story was cute and fluffy, definitely skip those chapters.
