There's just too much forced conflict, the way the story began made the reader feel hopeful that they had left most of the hardships behind and this was a new happier moment in their lives, but of course not cause the author keeps pushing more and more drama out of a story that would have benefitted from a calmer and balanced relationship between its characters. It's too bad since the animation is gorgeous and I genuinely still love the main couple, it just became too contrived and boring.
