Ok, so at first, I wasn’t a fan. ESPECIALLY because Rui is kinda rapey at the start and also says that he liked watching Shion get sexually assaulted? That was gross. He also basically said that he thought about just not stepping in and watching, which, again, gross. Like, if it were a CONSENTUAL scene (like rape PLAY) then whatever, you do you. But it’s not, so it’s gross. But later on, it gets pretty cute. It helps that they grow into actual characters other than tropes. Either Rui saying he was turned on by the idea of someone raping Shion was a “im totally not in love with you bro, so much so that i’d be super cool with you being raped, like i’d even get off on it” (←lying his ass off) move, or he genuinely was hot and bothered by it (doubtful) BUT HE STILL SAID IT LIKE A FUCKIN CREEP. And then proceeded to dubcon the shit out of his best friend. I just am so tired of rape in Yaoi. Can’t boys just be bros that fuck? Fuck Fuck Fall in Love? (←to the tune of Kiss Kiss Fall in Love) All I want is for some good relationships without the rape or dubcon or sadistic semes. Or drunk sex or drugged sex. Apparently that is too much to ask, because rape is EVERYWHERE in yaoi. Later on it gets cute. Rui isn’t as in denial as I thought he would be. In fact he’s a big idiot, but both of them are. Together they are one, bigger idiot. The sex scenes are hot. I don’t particularly care that half of them are sort-of-not-really hetero (people saying this is hentai has some things to unpack about their transphobia tho tbh). Overall it’s good (and hot) enough for me to keep reading. 7/10. I do want Shion to top Rui (from the bottom or not i’m not picky) and I want to see Rui become a blushing mess because of it.

Honestly I completely skip everything except the sex scenes at this point. And I can literally get the summary of what is happening just from that alone, so you can imagine how useless the plot is. Some of the translations also suck and obviously have no typesetters or don’t have a native English speaker working with the translator to check grammar and sentence structure. Also, everything at the beginning is rape.
