Toi: Goddess Megane-chan!!!'s manga / #A genuine friendship turned into romance.(3)

I really enjoy the works of Kaoru Uchida. The art is always excellent and you get a genuine feel for the characters. It's nice to read a story where an unexpected friendship turns to genuine romantic love. This story centers around Kunihiko Emori, who was dumped by his longtime girlfriend and suddenly strikes a friendship with a helpful stranger named Atsushi Makishima that turns into something more over the span of their time together. Bravo Uchida-sensei, BRAVO!!!

Former police officer Kanatsugu Nawa was finally paroled and seeks bloody revenge on the man who killed his wife and daughter. He captures him and beats him to death, but discovers a horrifying surprise. It turns out that his wife and daughter's murderer has become an immortal monster after he ate a fruit called the "Yomotsuhegui". Nawa gets attacked but it's revealed by a mysterious girl named Ren that he is also an immortal and has the power to rip the Yomotsuhegui's seeds from those ate the fruit and turn them mortal again. Ren reveals herself to be a Shinigami(reaper/God of death)whose goal is to destroy the seeds and kill the immortals who are giving the fruit to humans. As the "Hand of the Shinigami", Nawa is the only one who can extract the seeds and prevent more suffering from happening, as well become the hero of justice that his daughter idolized.

It's never a good sign when the yaoi manga first sex scene is nonconsensual. Does the word "NO" not mean anything anymore? Well...the story gets kinda better after the first chapter sort of. Spoilers: When the twins tried to sexually assault Sae they backed off after seeing how traumatized he was, and decided to stop messing with him. At least they acknowledged they were in the wrong and apologized, which is a far cry from most yaois that contain non-con so this gets a w from me.
