I loved how relaxed they were about past relationships. Aiko was a widow that remarried Koutaro, who once widowed ended up falling in love with Isao. That part where they were chatting about how Aiko would have fit into their relationship if she were alive was beautiful - primarily because there seemed to be no doubt that despite that, there would still be a relationship.
