Love in the Mask

Complete | Han Yu-rang | 2005 released

Very good but had some very tear jerking scenes. Rarely does a manga/manhwa get me so emotional...I wish some events didn't occur...A must read!

It was a story with a misunderstanding that led a man to despair. Luckily Shouta managed to rescue him through much effort.

The Inheritance of Aroma

Complete | NAKAMURA Asumiko | 2008 released

OK, this is some messed up, twisted stuff. I was fine, then wham, hit me hard at the end. I even got teary. Pretty sad drama, I mean, it's so wrong in all levels, yet instincts and desires are so close to impossible to deny.

This is such a tragic story. In all honesty, it does depict well the life of a yakuza; not many good things will come but lots of despair. In a way I'm glad I was able to read it because it was well written, but at the same time I wish I didn't because it was really sad.

Koizora

Complete | mika | 2007 released

The harsh reality about love and relationships. You never know where life takes you, even when you think you had it all planned. It's a cruel joke at times. Going through a disease, it was understandable that Hiro broke it off for Mika's own good. You try to give the one you love happiness, not sadness. Being with him when he is ill is a slow and painful path. Mika may not have regrets, but as the person with the illness, it's unbearable to put your loved one through it. It's selfish, but it's also selfless. I wish for Yuu's happiness because he's an incredible man, with a lot of understanding, patience, and love. I cried my eyes out, and it feels a bit swollen. This hardly ever happens. Tragic, but I enjoyed it. It's the harsh reality.

Saesang Bring It On! Manhwa

Complete | hwang mi ri | 2008 released

I suppose you can say that it's a typical shojo manga/manwa but there is some differences. Such that the female lead is a lot more stronger, and doe go through a lot of hardships (in addition to being broke poor). I thought the ending was quite rushed, and that was what disappointed me, despite the happy ending. The story should have elaborated more on Minwa's hearing impairment; perhaps a twist or a few years into the future where they meet up after he gets healed or something. However, I did enjoy it nonetheless.

Reimei No Arcana

Complete | toma rei | 2009 released

Wow! I absolutely loved this fantasy manga. The ending was indeed unexpected. The love that Loki felt for Nakaba, I wonder what kind of love was it? It was certainly tear-jerking towards the final chapter(s) for me. Love is truly hard to describe; happiness, pain, resentment, sadness, laughter, despair. A bag of mixed emotions, like an endless roller coaster ride where you could only hope it would continuously rise, but only to know that it will inevitably have to go down. One of my favorite. I regret putting this on my to read list and not reading it from the get go. Highly recommend, and a re-read!
