Art is good and I like the characters for now, but I wonder if the plot will be something substantial or a typical "rich ceo x poor guy" run-of-the-mill BL
For now the dynamic is interesting and it's using clichés but writing them well enough so it's enjoyable instead of boring. For some reason it still misses a spark for me - the art is gorgeous, the story is alright, but I don't feel attachment to the characters so I'm not invested.
Chapter 28 and I'm just... Ugh. The uke was raped by his debt collector and the seme was like "are those hickeys? guess you can't keep from fucking guys so now I'm gonna be rough and hurt u during sex". Just WHY. I know this is chock-full of clichés but this one is the one I can't bear. I just hate it so much. I'm considering bumping down the rating just BC of this ugh.
I did bump down the rating. Seme keeps being an asshole most of the times and only remembers to be nice every now and then. I don't see any kind of feeling between the two, the uke is just madly in love (why? we shall never know) and the seme is just... There. I can't believe this is the same author of "the good teacher", that one had such a good dynamic between the characters.
Chapter 58 it's just: uke almost gets raped by the baddies. Seme saves him. Seme rapes the uke to punish him
THE END??? THIS IS THE END??? JUST WHEN THE REDEMPTION ARC WAS GETTING THERE??? nah I'm sorry, the seme was an asshole for most of this and then suddenly realised he loved him so he moped and followed him everywhere. It could've been good if this was the BEGINNING of the redemption arc, not the END nope, that 2-stars rating isn't getting higher
Somehow the side stories manage to get WORSE. It's the same trite "sacrifice gets fucked" plot with no particular spiciness, no extra oomf. They just say "perchance you might regard my member with your mouth" instead of "suck my dick"
