This story was a ride, I read it a couple of months ago and it’s still quite vivid in my mind. Definitely a story that can be triggering to people who get triggered by child abuse, especially when it’s incestuous. Besides all of that nasty shit, it was well written.

I have mixed feelings about this one. I enjoyed that the author touched on a subject that many butcher, since most mangaka that write about sexuality and gender tend to be straight cisgendered women who would have never experienced the things that gay men and trans women experience. Having said that they tackled the moment of realisation that Souta’s body is changing and that the feminine features that she became accustomed to, will soon be changing to resemble a man and I think the mangaka did a good job in writing that. The thing that put me off was that there was no explanation of the characters ages until the middle section when Souta spoke of her body changing, meaning that she’s probably not even in middle school which made me uncomfortable. At this point things can’t be unseen and I was already in to deep to, I did want to see if she would get the happy ending she deserved hence why I finished the story. How old is Keichirou too, like he got his own apartment, is he a high schooler that lives alone? a college/uni student? Like there’s no explanation. Also wasn’t Souta’s parents scared that she ran away from home. It would be nice to see a continuation of adult Souta and whether they can truly live as Kanade in all her glory.
