Star x Fanboy

Complete | Kim Cheomji | 2000 released

My new favourite BL, and possibly my favourite webtoon. It's adorable, doesn't include the overdone evil ex or anything creepy. I honestly have nothing to complain about (other than wishing it would last forever lol). If only text could portray the amount of love I feel towards this series...

Starlight Scandal

Complete | Kr | 2019 released

I expected copper, and found gold. Seriously, it was so easy for them to fuck this up and yet it's so good I couldn't stop reading. At every turn I was going "Now I'm gonna drop this" and without fail I would be pleasantly surprised. At the start I thought the characters looked a little derpy but either I've grown used to it or the art improved because I never noticed it after around chapter 4. EDIT: Them actually dating feels weird now that it's happened, and I desperately hope this won't turn in to yaoi like most good series...

Holy Idol

Ongoing | 스튜디오M / 악사 | 2000 released

I was under the impression this is a shoujo reincarnation. Turns out it's about a medieval priest (with actual holy powers) transmigrating to the body of a modern day idol about to make his debut. It goes about as well as you'd expect which is both comedic genius and second hand embarrassment torture. If that black haired guy turns out to be from his original world I'll give it 5 stars since it'll give us a more concrete goal than "return" and push the narrative along.

My Bias Appeared?!

Complete | Nabit,Earl,Cereal | 2000 released

The porn is kinda... eugh. Everything else is ok though, good even. EDIT: Quality dropped like a rock so I dropped it too. ML is showing manipulative tendencies, and they both seem to be mistaking lust for love. What's up with yaoi and it's "fuck first, date later" policy? Not to mention past couple chapters being too busy trying to shove as much sex in to every chapter as possible to have time for pesky things like development. They seriously just interrupt actual conversation for porn like it's an ad break but then the thing they were meant to talk about doesn't get resolved afterwards.

On my own

Ongoing | Zuha | 2000 released

This latest arc has really been a wtf moment from start to finish. MC grew negative braincells and ML is paying the price. He basically unilaterally decided they'd broken up while ML had no clue why he's getting ghosted since the only thing of note that happened is he said he can't eat homecooked food right now due to his manager watching the groups diet. Then, when he realizes he fucked up he continues to do nothing as ML leaves a sobbing mess. Afterwards he's like "I should've done something" y'think mate?! Go to his house or some shit, leaving it longer isn't gonna fix anything! Even if the relationships done for he deserves an explanation. EDIT: I wonder if it has anything to do with that hiatus, maybe the old author got killed and they got a stand-in to finish the series lmao. EDIT 2: Latest chapter ended the series, it explained Heemin's side of things more.

Debut or Die

Ongoing | Baek deoksoo | 2019 released

Please, sir... May I have another? Almost skipped this one and it would've been a massive mistake, it's actually so good. Better than 90% of the other things i read and certainly a cut above most idol manhwa. Mc is hella cute, smart with a cool attitude. The story keeps you guessing with every twist and turn. They never lose sight of what makes the series good but still find ways to add variety and expand.

The Second Life of an All-Rounder Idol

Ongoing | meka, ROBO, Linehere | 2022 released

Nothing groundbreaking but it's fine. Villains don't overstay their welcome. MC is pretty good at everything although idk if I'd call it OP. The other characters are generally ok although only 2 of them get much time to shine for now, and it's my least favourite ones so who am I to judge.
