Dominated by the Powerful Top
I think I'm at chapter 64. It deconstructs the uke & seme tropes. But not in a meta way like the BL starring the straight cis woman or the straight cis man. So who is the dominant top. MC or ML? After all it looks like the MC can't be fucked by the ML anymore seeing how he keeps throwing up during sex. The ukes backstory & reason for him being a pushover is integral to the plot itself, it is the plot & his growth doesn't feel shallow. To go along with this his reasons for feeling dirty & having low self esteem are given meaning, he doesn't just have them for the readers to feel sorry for him. He loves the second ML & wants to be with him but through forces out of his control he accepts that's not possible & settles for the ML. It's also implied that the Uke is bi and stated that the second & first ML are bi. No heteros baby. And it isn't used to flatter the woman readers their bi simply because the writer wanted them to be. The ukes also rather manly when he's properly eating & his outfits reflect his current status. REGULAR UKE CLOTHES symbolize him being stuck in his position and desperately wanting out. Normal male clothes symbolizing having both accepting his life & now able to take control of it. And he only wears the uke's clothes one last time (the ones his mom bought for him to) as a reminder before throwing them out. At present both characters have acknowledged that the seme has been anything but a good partner. And the uke doesn't believe for shit that the seme means it this time (and even if he did the shit he's done to the uke's life is so extreme it still shouldn't change anything). At present they're showing the seme having nightmares about the uke never loving him again after what he did to him and the ukes eyes aren't lifeless. Is this meant to say that he's 'regretful' but he shouldn't be or that he's properly paranoid. Because I will not accept the uke loving him at all. And unless the seme was having a nightmare the uke chose to burn and or suffocate to death. Godamn. I love this. And if it's true the seme is regretting every action he took against the MC.
