Smart, good-looking and popular with the girls, Maruyama Rina is Abe Saburou’s complete opposite. They have been friends since elementary school, but since attending different high schools the distance between them seemed to be growing. Will their friendship disappear? This manga was way to short! Just when it was starting to get cute between them it ended. ╥﹏╥

Fudanshi-kun No Honey Days

Complete | yodogawa yuo | 2012 released

Cute story about how Arima Kouhei, a fudanshi, and his little brother Kanata fall in love with a hairdresser and a teacher respectively. Kouhei has got to be the cutest thing ever, I don’t blame Shiiba Kazuomi for being smitten with him. I have to give props to Kanata, he just went for it with Mimasaka Kyuogo sensei. I loved his attitude and how he was both cute and manly.

Sayonara, Itoshi No My Friend

Complete | enzou | 2011 released

Haga Hajime is an unsociable hairdresser, who’s never really struggled with anything since his parents gave him all he ever wanted. As a result he doesn’t really know how to interact with the people around him. His first friend is Tatsuo Andou, a makeup artist who teaches him how to interact with other people. I really liked how their relationship progressed from friendship to love. Hajime is so child-like it’s endearing. The second volume focuses on Hajime’s brother Makoto. Having spent all his life living under his perfect brother’s shadow, Makoto developed a serious inferiority complex. So when his coworker Mizusawa Souta confesses to him and he accepts, he takes his first step towards happiness. Makoto really got the short end of the stick in life, everything he ever wanted was handed out to his brother. At least he found someone who acknowledges his faults but loved him regardless.

Takaramono wa Hako no Naka

Complete | AMASAKI Yoshimi | 2012 released

Tokura Ei is a forensic archaeologist who’s dealt with discrimination due to the fact that he’s gay. He struggles to keep his distance from his childhood friend and lover Kamiryou Gin, because he doesn’t want Gin to experience bigotry. This was a really intense manga. It was really interesting to have the topic of discrimination be front and center. While I get why Ei was hurting Gin, my heart still went out to both of them. I loved Gin’s perseverance, after all the stuff he did and put up with to get Ei, he seriously deserves a happy ending.
