Edited; I recommend this novel before reading the manhua. The characters are realistic and relatable especially zhan ming. The novel is more details and very good. The novel has 3 phase- Phase 1- High school What you read now is the high school time where you can see how they fall in love, rejection, confession, studying for uni, struggle in family problem, character development and so on. Unlike in manhua, Qinan (uke) is mentally strong, sensible, funny, genius and sometimes bad temper. He's not cringe at all in novel. He's opposite with zhan ming (seme) who has the tough look, macho and handsome but in fact he was actually a fragile inside. That's why he loved Qinan so much and even called him "baby". He deal with insecurity and lack of confident most of time. He was poor, nobody loves him, his relatives are sucks! When he finally accept qinan (he rejecting him few times and their relationship as friends become worst), i almost cried reading. Read his pov and you'll understand why he acted cold after qinan confession. Before confession, Qinan wasn't gay but Zhan ming was (dw they're both first love and first time/sx for each other). They lost virginity when Qinan was 19. Phase 2- university life Zhan ming commute every Thursday or weekend to qinan's university even he was tired he'll come. Qinan is his priority. I read the novel ahead. Guess what? My guess was right. Fu zhian is seme and Chi yu is uke. In novel fuzhian will become taller and muscular once he went to college. His jealousy are not getting better. When chi yu went to US he was so depressed and sad. He even apply for exchange student when they had a fight. Fuzhian's roommate answer chiyu's calls when fuzhian was taking a shower. Chiyu sulked and fuzhian go straight to find chiyu in US to console his baby. Chiyu is tsundere baby but he acts so cute. The side story is a dream of whom? James or Henry? I bet this must be James wild dream again. Lmao. After all he loves to read erotic novel and always imagine doing it with Henry. I want to see they make love in the original story. EDIT: Yeah! This is definitely James wild dream. I feel uncomfortable seeing Tom f* Henry.
