Edited; I recommend this novel before reading the manhua. The characters are realistic and relatable especially zhan ming. The novel is more details and very good. The novel has 3 phase- Phase 1- High school What you read now is the high school time where you can see how they fall in love, rejection, confession, studying for uni, struggle in family problem, character development and so on. Unlike in manhua, Qinan (uke) is mentally strong, sensible, funny, genius and sometimes bad temper. He's not cringe at all in novel. He's opposite with zhan ming (seme) who has the tough look, macho and handsome but in fact he was actually a fragile inside. That's why he loved Qinan so much and even called him "baby". He deal with insecurity and lack of confident most of time. He was poor, nobody loves him, his relatives are sucks! When he finally accept qinan (he rejecting him few times and their relationship as friends become worst), i almost cried reading. Read his pov and you'll understand why he acted cold after qinan confession. Before confession, Qinan wasn't gay but Zhan ming was (dw they're both first love and first time/sx for each other). They lost virginity when Qinan was 19. Phase 2- university life Zhan ming commute every Thursday or weekend to qinan's university even he was tired he'll come. Qinan is his priority. Zhan ming is very loyal even how many times he got hit by many boys and girls in his uni. Only got eyes for baby. For him, Qinan was his savior during his broken life. Same goes Qinan who always admired zhan ming as his hero and keep calling himself lucky for having the best boyfriend in the world. Also many sxxx when they met Phase 3- working adult Zhan ming worker as engineer and qinan further his study abroad. They will be apart for 6years. During those time, zhan ming worked crazily to buy asset in order to meet Qinan in US. His visa was rejected because of no asset as secure. The 2nd year he manage to buy a very small apartment and finally went to visit him. Both are loyal to each other. They learn many tricks while in distance like doing videoS*x and very erotic. I believe china will censored the scene in manhua. Haha! At the end of the story, they are in their thirties. Zhan ming is a super hot daddy and qinan worked as a math professor.
